Etna Re-fired Lava Stone is lava rock extracted from Mount Etna in the Nebrodi mountain range - Northern Sicily. The material remains free from any additional chemicals and enamel added after extraction. After the stone is carefully mined, respecting at all times the concept of eco-sustainability, the material is placed in a kiln at 1400 degrees changing the stone back to its previous magma state which leaves a deep grey/black finish, a colour not found in any other similar materials such as Basaltina.
Unlike Basaltina, Etna Re-fired Lava Stone has an extremely tight grain structure and therefore does not require filling with resin. The product is for use on floors, walls and worktops as it is resistant to heat, scratches and outdoor conditions.
